Custom Cats & Bats Design Ouija Board Coffee Table

I can't remember where I saw a Ouija Board Coffee Table.
Someone in my social network probably shared a picture of the one that looks like it was designed as a ouija board variant on the Sons Of Anarchy conference table.
I liked the idea, but I didn't like that design and it seemed like a project that was within my artistic capabilities.
I asked my room-mate if I could use our living room coffee table as a demo.

I decided to use the classic ouija board design as a start.

I never really liked the "Sun & Moon" design on the top and the spooky ghost design on the bottom, so I let my room-mate choose from a variety of cats, bats, rats, spiders and skulls for the corner images.

Our coffee table is 19" wide and 48" long, so this is the ouija board design resized to the proportions of our coffee table with the stuff I didn't like pasted out and grid lines for the half and quarter marks for reference.

This is the admittedly embarrassing MS Paint mock-up of the design I made for my room-mate to approve.
As you can see, I gave her the choice of bats, rats, spiders, scared cats or cool cats.
She picked bats and cool cats.

This was our living room coffee table with the grid lines penciled in for reference.

This is the pencil rough draft of the design that I did using my design and the grid lines for reference.

This is the first coat of paint.
It required several coats to get the thickness/darkness of solid black I wanted for the design.

This is the Second Coat.

While I was working on the coffee table, my room-mate and the cats were still using it as a table, and unpainting the table, so I put it in the spare room when I wasn't working on it.

This is the finished black coat with the silver metallic faux-inlay before I applied the clear coat.

And, finally, here are three pictures of the finished product taken with my digital camera.
[All of the preceding pictures were taken with my cell phone camera.]

The table's dimensions are
19" Wide [Top to bottom]
48" Long [Side to side]
14.5"  Tall [Height from the floor]

If you would like to order your own custom ouija board coffee table, contact me and we can work out what kind of furniture and design you would like.
If you want me to pick a slightly used coffee table from a thrift store, I'm asking $250 plus the cost of the table, plus shipping when finished.
If you want to pick a coffee table from Amazon (or wherever) and have it shipped to me to work on, you cover the cost of the table and shipping, plus $250 for labor, plus shipping when finished.
Allow two weeks from the beginning of the project for the table to be ready for delivery.
I realize that the cost may be prohibitive for some people, but considering that I spend about five hours a day for two weeks working on each table, when you divide the cost of labor by the number of hours I'm doing these for less than minimum wage.
I have a job, and this is a way for me to make nice things for people that want them and practice my art while creating durable pieces of art.

You can contact me through the contact box on the right, or e-mail me directly at Scott_Lefebvre@hotmail.com
